DNSai for GitHub Copilot
Add DNSai to GitHub Copilot's agent mode in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and Visual Studio, or to the Copilot coding agent on GitHub, so Copilot can check DNS and email security as it works.
What you can ask GitHub Copilot
Example answers use made-up domains.
“#dnsai Is wingtip.example ready for the mail cutover in this PR?”
Connect in 3 steps (about 3 minutes)
- Create a DNSai API key.
- Add DNSai to .vscode/mcp.json (or the coding agent's MCP configuration).
- Start the server and use it from Copilot agent mode.
Signed-in Enterprise customers get the exact click-by-click steps and ready-to-paste configuration for GitHub Copilot, a one-click API key for it, and a live connection check.
GitHub Copilot requirements: Copilot in VS Code 1.99+ (or JetBrains, Eclipse, Xcode, Visual Studio 17.14+). On Copilot Business and Enterprise an admin must enable the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy. DNSai Enterprise plan.
Security
- GitHub Copilot sends an API key in the Authorization header. Use an expiring key made for GitHub Copilot and keep it in an environment variable.
- Account and organization owners can make API keys and assistants read-only, so they can read your data but never change it or start scans.
- Starting a credit-spending Deep Scan always needs an estimate and your explicit confirmation.
- DNSai data comes from public DNS and web records. Your watchlists, notes and tags stay private to your account and are only shared with an AI tool you connect yourself.
Connect GitHub Copilot to DNSai
The API and AI connectors are included with DNSai Enterprise plans. Every member of your organization shares one set of limits, and every call counts from the first one.
